All Stars Cricket is an initiative from the England and Wales Cricket Board aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket. It is a fun and active way to develop your child’s skills, and through our eight-week programme they will learn lots – as well as make new friends – in a safe and inclusive environment. Goring-on-Thames CC. Get into Cricket with All Stars. All Stars Cricket provides boys and girls from 5-8 years old with 8 weeks of non-stop fun. The activity and game based programme is suitable for all skill levels, providing your child with the foundations to begin a lifelong love of physical activity and cricket, while making friends in a safe and enjoyable environment.
All Stars Cricket provides a fantastic first experience for all children aged 5-8 years old where they’re guaranteed 8 weeks of jam-packed fun, activity and skills development. The programme is designed to introduce children to the sport, teaching them new skills, helping them make new friends and have a great time doing so.
All Stars Cricket starts from 19th May 2017 and they have over 1,800 centres across the country. It's an 8-week course and each session lasts one hour. Sessions are run by trained and accredited activators and Mum and Dad are encouraged to take part too, so you can spend some time with the kids.
GCC runs a thriving Academy section for players aged 5 to 15. We are continuing to run the very popular All Stars cricket for children aged 5-8 on a Saturday morning. The Academy provides an opportunity to play in friendly and competitive cricket through OCB organised tournaments.
The Goring Cricket Academy is the natural progression from our All Stars set up and is for girls and boys from school years 3 upwards of all abilities. We have teams that cover two school years playing games against local clubs in age groups Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13.
All Stars is all about giving children the best first experience of the sport, with an emphasis on fun! Children will learn fundamental movement skills including catching, throwing and batting. Soft balls and plastic bats are used by everyone and all participants are given their very own cricket bag full of everything they need to play the game.
The Teams. We currently field the following sides: 1st XI, T20 Ultras, Sunday XI, Development XI and Tour XI. We have a thriving Academy featuring U15, U13, U11, U9, Girls Academy and U5-U8 All Stars teams. GCC All Stars. Training for School Years 3 & 4 takes place on a Monday evening with soft ball cricket for the Under 9s. Tuesdays are for the Under 13s (Years 7 and 8) and on Friday it’s the turn of the Under 11s (Years 5 & 6). The training is run by the professional coaches form Performance Cricket.
